Job Summary:

Student employees in the Fitness & Wellness Facilities position work in several locations on campus, including the Main Campus Fitness Center, Main Campus weight room, and the West Campus Fitness Center. They play an important role in creating a warm, welcoming experience for everyone who visits or contacts the Fitness Centers and Weight Rooms. You'll help staff our service desk-greeting guests, answering phones, responding to emails, and ensuring a positive, professional environment for students, faculty, staff, and the public. Reception duties also include providing general information about Fitness & Wellness services and classes, as well as making appropriate referrals to campus departments/programs and resources when needed.
Student employees in this area must work productively and efficiently with both students, instructors, and LCC employees in a friendly, cooperative, customer service-oriented manner. Duties may include: greeting visitors/customers, checking-in members using an access control system, sanitizing fitness equipment, cleaning the facilities, washing/drying/folding laundry, filing, stocking, and other related duties.
Student employees must be dependable and have the ability to work independently. Working hours could be early mornings, evenings, and weekends depending on the student's availability and class schedule.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
LCC policy requires all LCC employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform all work (with limited exceptions) within the State of Michigan.
