JOB DESCRIPTION
Basketball Day Camp Student Worker
Hourly Pay Rate: $10.00 per hour
The Basketball Day Camp Student Assistant will support the Tulane Women's Basketball staff in the daily operations of camp and provide a positive experience for all campers. This position offers hands-on experience in event operations, youth development, and customer service within collegiate athletics.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the day-to-day operations of basketball camp
- Helping with camp set-up, registration, and check-in/check-out procedures
- Supervising and engaging with campers throughout daily activities
- Assisting coaches with drills, games, and skill development sessions
- Preparing and organizing camp equipment and materials
- Providing excellent customer service to campers, parents, and visitors
- Ensuring a safe, positive, and inclusive camp environment
- Assisting with camp clean-up and end-of-day responsibilities
- Supporting Tulane Women's Basketball staff with administrative and operational needs during camp
- Demonstrating professional verbal and written communication skills
- Representing Tulane Women's Basketball in a professional manner at all times
- Assisting with social media content and promotional materials when needed
- Performing other duties as assigned by camp directors or coaching staff
Qualifications:
- Active enrollment as a student at Tulane University (preferred)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with children or participating in athletics is preferred but not required
- Ability to remain energetic, organized, and professional throughout camp activities
- Willingness to assist with camp operations and provide outstanding customer service

Student assistants play an important role in creating a fun, engaging, and memorable camp experience. This position also helps student employees develop career readiness competencies identified by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), including communication, teamwork, leadership, professionalism, and critical thinking.
