Position Summary:

The Student Assistant - Theatre Scene Shop position assists with the design and construction of stage scenes for plays in the Theatre department.

Essential Functions:
Duties include but are not limited to:
Design, construction and completion of scenery of theatre productions. This entails basic carpentry, construction, painting, refurbishing of furniture and set pieces and upholstery.
Upkeep of shop and theatre spaces.
Perform tasks with adherence to all university rules and regulations and scene shop safety protocol.
Other duties as assigned by the shop director

Non-Essential Functions:
Possible technical crew assistance.

Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic carpentry skills.
Ability to safely operate scene shop power tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 75 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will be comfortable working at heights.
