Student Assistant - Media Preparation Center (Fall)

Position Introduction:

The School of Biological Sciences is looking for a student assistant in the Microbiology Media Preparation Center to assist with the preparation of media used in laboratory classes.

Duties will include:

• Assist the MPC technician as needed
• Help in the preparation of media used in microbiology laboratory classes
• Assist in the cleaning, organizing and restocking of the MPC
• Assist in the safe disposal of used media and consumables from laboratory classes
• Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• Must be currently enrolled in the Fall 2026 Term as an undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Oklahoma.
• Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Skills:

• Must be able to follow precise recipes/instructions in English
• Be able to complete repetitive tasks efficiently and effectively
• Basic understanding of chemistry/chemicals is helpful
