Description

The University of Florida Department of Housing and Residence life team is seeking a reliable and focused student assistant to join its Housing Package Services team. The position is responsible for receiving, sorting, processing, and distributing all incoming parcels across all the residence halls.

Classification Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are enrolled as a full-time student in good standing as defined by the University at the time of employment. Maintain a 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA the semester prior to employment and be available for 20-hours per week. 

Job Description:

The Student Assistant within Housing & Residence Life Package Services team is responsible for:    

  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming parcels to all residential halls on campus.
  • Load and unload sorted bins and packages into vehicles for delivery.   
  • Prepare bins to be loaded into delivery vehicles.
  • Verify addresses and ensure proper preparation of outgoing mail and packages.
  • Follow all safety procedures while handling mail, operating equipment, and transporting packages.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Housing & Residence Life policies, procedures, emergency protocols, and documentation standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Expected Salary:

 $14.00 per hour 

Required Qualifications:
  • This position is open to all students who are enrolled as a full-time student in good standing as defined by the University at the time of employment
  • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative and semester GPA the semester prior to employment
  • Be available for 20-hours per week.

  • Demonstrated ability to critical analyze situations and actively problem solve

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment
