Student Assistant – NON CLER & ADMIN

• High school diploma
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions with a good work ethic

Primary Responsibilities Your main duties will involve hands-on laboratory work in assisting other lab members perform the following vital laboratory procedures.

• Genotyping by polymerase chain reaction
• Protein detection assays (western blots and immunofluorescence)
• Histology
• Microscopy

Additional Responsibilities You will also be essential to our lab's organization and operations, including:

• assist maintaining clean and organized lab areas
• assist managing ordering and supply inventories
• assist maintain mouse colony
• updating spreadsheets and other lab documents

$15-$16 per hour based on experience and skills.

• Interest in scientific career advancement or currently pursuing a science degree (not required)
• Prior lab experience
• Basic knowledge of genetics and cell biology
• Ability to work well in a team-based environment
• Ability to multi-task and self-organize

• This position is open to all University of Florida degree-seeking students registered at least half-time who are eligible to work on campus and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
