    Job Title

    Oral History Clerical Student Assistant AY 26-27

    Salary

    Classification Range $16.90 - $24.00 per hour
    Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $16.90 per hour.

    Work Schedule

    Hours are flexible, but must be approved by COPH and completed during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 9AM-5PM). Up to 20 hours per week during the academic year.

    Job Summary

    The Oral History Clerical Student Assistant will work with the Lawrence de Graaf Center for Oral and Public History (COPH) office staff to provide reference and front desk assistance, and oral history and archival processing assistance. The assistant will also perform general clerical duties and may have the opportunity to work on special projects, as directed.

    Hours must be approved by COPH and completed during its regular hours, 9AM-5PM, Monday through Friday.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

    Must be Junior or Senior. 

    The candidate should possess:

    Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to cooperate with others and support team efforts, yet be able to work independently.

    Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

    Training and/or background in the field of history, with a preference for knowledge in oral history.

    General office experience with knowledge of office equipment. Computer skills, especially familiarity  with MS Excel and MS Word.

    Required Qualifications

    • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
    • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
    • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
    • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
