Structured Cabling Technician

Our client is a long-established Texas contractor with a dedicated technology division supporting large commercial construction projects throughout the state. Their teams install the communications infrastructure that powers office buildings, healthcare facilities, educational campuses, Datacenters and other commercial environments.
They're seeking an experienced Structured Cabling Technician who can work independently, produce quality installations, and help drive projects toward completion.

Structured Cabling Technician - Job Description:
Installing, routing, supporting, and dressing CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling
Reading blueprints, floor plans, and telecommunications drawings to determine cable pathways and device locations
Completing workstation trim-outs including faceplates, keystone jacks, labeling, and testing
Terminating patch panels and performing rack elevations according to project specifications
Building and organizing MDF and IDF closets
Installing ladder rack, cable tray, vertical and horizontal cable management systems
Dressing cable bundles to company and customer standards
Performing cable testing, troubleshooting, and documentation
Verifying labeling accuracy and maintaining TIA/EIA installation standards
Identifying and resolving installation issues before they impact project completion

Basic Requirement:
2+ years of commercial structured cabling experience
Strong experience with workstation terminations and patch panel terminations
Experience building out MDF and IDF closets
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and telecom plans
Experience testing and troubleshooting copper cabling systems
Knowledge of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards
Experience installing cable support systems including J-hooks, ladder rack, cable tray, and pathway infrastructure
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
