Lead a High-Profile Build in Dallas
Are you the tech everyone looks to when the prints come out? Our client is looking for a hands-on
Project Lead to run the field side of a high-profile structured cabling project for a major financial services client in Dallas. You'll take the plans, set the pace, lead the crew, and make sure every closet, cable run, and termination is done right the first time.
If you can read prints like a pro, lead a team without losing your cool, and you're comfortable with a laptop as well as a punch-down tool, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
- Run the job from the prints. Interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents, and turn them into a clear daily plan for the crew.
- Direct the team on telecom room / closet builds, cable pulls, testing, fiber splicing, and termination.
- Own quality and safety. Make sure all work meets company and customer quality and safety standards; hold weekly safety meetings.
- Partner with the Project Manager to keep the job productive, on schedule, and within budget.
- Lead and develop your crew. Provide on-the-job training, give performance feedback, and escalate issues to the PM when needed.
- Be the face of the company on site. Serve as the company liaison with customer representatives.
- Keep the paperwork tight. Complete timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and other project documentation accurately and on time.
- Troubleshoot and solve technical issues as they come up, and help improve project processes.
What You Bring
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and reporting/quality requirements
- Hands-on structured cabling experience: closet builds, copper and fiber pulls, testing, splicing, and termination
- Experience leading field crews on commercial projects
- Computer savvy proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project) and comfortable with test equipment software and digital project tools
- Knowledge of universal communications color codes
- Must possess and be proficient with standard tools of the trade
- Self-motivated, positive, and professional, with strong communication skills
- Able to travel within the branch/regional territory as needed
- Preferred: BICSI, fiber splicing/OTDR, or manufacturer certifications; experience on financial, data center, or enterprise campus projects
