Are you an experienced Voice & Data Technician ready to put your leadership skills to work? TradeSTAR is seeking a skilled Voice/Data Lead Technician with 6 8 years of experience for an opportunity with one of our commercial low-voltage contractor clients in the San Antonio area.

Your Role with the Company
As a Voice/Data Lead Technician, you'll oversee and participate in commercial structured cabling installations while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Lead and supervise crews of low-voltage installers and technicians.
Install, terminate, label, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings.
Install cable trays, ladder racks, J-hooks, and other cable support systems.
Perform copper and fiber optic testing, certification, and troubleshooting.
Oversee telecommunications room buildouts, including racks, patch panels, and cable management.
Coordinate daily work assignments, materials, and installation schedules.
Maintain accurate testing records, documentation, and project progress reports.
Ensure installations meet applicable TIA/EIA standards and project specifications.
Work alongside project managers and other trades to keep projects moving forward.
Qualifications What We're Looking For
6 8 years of hands-on experience in commercial Voice/Data and structured cabling installations required.
Previous experience leading crews of low-voltage technicians and installers.
Strong knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
Proficiency in terminating, testing, and certifying structured cabling installations.
Ability to read blueprints, identify cable pathways, and independently lay out work.
Experience with telecommunications closets, MDF/IDF buildouts, racks, and patch panels.
Familiarity with Fluke testing equipment and industry installation standards.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Reliable transportation and a commitment to workplace safety.
BICSI or manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus.
