Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking experienced Structural MIG Welders for a busy manufacturing operation in Broken Arrow. This position focuses on welding, fitting, and assembling skid-mounted structural components in a fast-paced production environment.
Candidates must have previous structural welding experience with MIG and Flux Core processes, be able to read fabrication blueprints, and successfully complete a 3G MIG/Flux Core weld test.
This position offers an extended MondaySaturday schedule with consistent overtime, making it an excellent opportunity for skilled Welders looking for substantial weekly hours and long-term potential.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous structural welding experience required
Strong MIG welding skills
Strong Flux Core welding skills
Carbon steel welding experience
Blueprint reading required
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
Ability to successfully pass the required 3G weld test
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience with fitting and assembly preferred
Ability to accurately use tape measures, squares, calipers, and related measuring tools
Strong attention to weld quality and dimensional accuracy
Dependable attendance and ability to work an extended production schedule
Strong commitment to workplace and welding safety
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on carbon steel components
Perform Flux Core welding on structural components
Weld and assemble skid-mounted structures
Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
Follow weld symbols and applicable fabrication specifications
Measure and position structural components before welding
Assist with fitting and mechanical assembly of skid units
Verify dimensions and alignment throughout fabrication
Tack and prepare components for final welding
Produce consistent welds according to established quality requirements
Inspect completed welds for visible defects and workmanship concerns
Correct welding or fit-up issues when required
Use grinders and related fabrication tools safely
Maintain consistent productivity throughout extended shifts
Keep assigned work areas clean and organized
Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures
Perform additional structural welding and fabrication duties as assigned
Weld Test Requirements
Candidates must successfully complete a hands-on weld test:
3G Position
MIG / Flux Core
Completed weld must meet required quality standards
Candidates should arrive prepared to demonstrate production-level structural welding ability.

Blueprint & Measurement Requirements
Blueprint reading is an important requirement for this position.
Candidates must be able to:
Read fabrication blueprints and drawings
Identify dimensions and component locations
Follow applicable weld symbols
Measure structural components accurately
Verify fit-up and alignment
Use tape measures and squares
Use calipers when required
Identify dimensional discrepancies before final welding

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and remain physically active throughout extended shifts
Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, positioning, pushing, and pulling
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for welding and fitting
Ability to safely handle structural steel and fabricated components
Comfortable working around welding equipment, grinders, sparks, heat, and industrial machinery
Ability to safely perform physically demanding fabrication work while wearing required PPE
Ability to work the full MondaySaturday production schedule
Work Environment
