Pay Rate: $35.00 / hour


Duties:


+ Assures that tank/compartment has an updated safe for hot work ticket and that requirements of the ticket have been met.

+ Assures that conditions of the tank/compartment have not changed since the ticket was written.

+ Assures that a Work Authorization Form (WAF) ticket is on the job site and that it is for the specific job being accomplished, no work will be accomplished without a WAF posted at the location of repairs.

+ Assures that any other safety issues are complied with that relate to the specific job being accomplished.

+ Assures that you are trained or qualified for the work you are assigned to do.

+ Assures that General Dynamics-NASSCO's Safety Procedures, including testing, are utilized for all torch work.

+ Assures that you and personnel working under your direction are working as safely and as productively as possible maintaining quality control at all times.

+ Assures that a 30 minute cool down period has been accomplished in hot work areas.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications:


+ Must have full knowledge of WAF's

+ Must know all 1st Class requirements

+ Must be able to complete work with little or no guidance from Supervisor

+ Must have basic knowledge of Standard Items

+ Must have basic knowledge of ship equipment

+ Works well with others.

+ Must be willing to travel and have reliable transportation. ·

+ Must have a reliable record of attendance and punctuality and be available for overtime as required.

+ Must be able to physically transit all areas of the facility.

+ Must have good eye/hand coordination.

+ Must be familiar with working in a naval-ship-work-environment and be able to go aboard marine vessels

+ These areas can be dirty, dusty, hot or cold, and noisy.

+ Must have or soon acquire a valid passport.


Requirements: Background Check, Drug Test, Must be at least 18 years old.Able to Lift 50 pounds., required education: HS Diploma or GED.

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $35.00 - $35.00 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law.
