Structural Steel Detailer / Checker

Our client is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Detailer / Checker for an on-site role in the greater Houston area. This person will produce and review accurate shop and erection drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel projects.

Responsibilities

• Detail and check structural and miscellaneous steel shop and erection drawings
• Review drawings for accuracy, connections, and compliance with design documents and AISC standards
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and the fabrication shop to resolve RFIs and issues
• Mentor and support other detailers as needed
• Meet project schedules and quality standards

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural steel detailing experience; checking experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures or SDS2
• Strong understanding of steel connections, fabrication, and erection
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
• Strong attention to detail
