Structural Engineer

Talon Hiring Solutions has a client in the Winter Park, FL area seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to provide technical leadership across a variety of projects, overseeing structural design, analysis, and engineering solutions from concept through completion. This role will support Responsible Charge as required, while collaborating closely with operations, pre-construction, and project teams to resolve complex challenges and deliver practical, buildable solutions. The ideal candidate is a confident engineering leader who can make sound technical decisions, lead project scopes, and contribute to the overall success of the Design & Engineering team.

What You'll Do:

• Lead structural engineering design and analysis for temporary structures and complex construction conditions, including shoring, reshoring, formwork, falsework, crane foundations, tie-backs, and stability bracing.
• Design and evaluate construction procedures, including erection, demolition, jacking, post-tensioning, hoisting, and temporary loading.
• Operate in or support Responsible Charge, including directing engineering staff and sealing calculations, reports, and plans as required.
• Provide technical oversight and quality control for internal and consultant engineering work.
• Lead complex engineering scopes across multiple projects, identifying risks and developing practical, buildable solutions.
• Partner with construction, operations, preconstruction, and project teams on constructability, field issues, remediation, and risk mitigation.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to engineering standards, procedures, and tools.
• Provide technical support for claims, investigations, and dispute resolution as needed.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• 6–14+ years of structural engineering and design experience.
• PE license required; SE preferred.
• Experience with Responsible Charge and technical leadership.
• Advanced knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, AWC, and AISI.
• Strong experience with reinforced and post-tensioned concrete, structural and cold-formed steel, timber, masonry, and foundations.
• Strong engineering judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence project teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency with structural analysis, modeling, and drafting software.
