JOB DESCRIPTION

A well-established structural steel erector is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join their growing team. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on complex commercial and industrial structural steel projects while collaborating with project management, detailing, fabrication, and field operations to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.

This organization offers the stability of an established contractor combined with the opportunity to play a key role in engineering support throughout the lifecycle of structural steel erection projects. They are seeking a motivated engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex field and design challenges.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide engineering support for structural steel erection projects from preconstruction through completion

  • Review structural drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accuracy and constructability

  • Design temporary bracing, erection engineering, lifting plans, and connection details as required

  • Perform structural calculations related to steel erection means and methods

  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Detailers, Fabricators, and Field Superintendents to resolve engineering issues

  • Review RFIs, submittals, and engineering revisions

  • Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews during preconstruction

  • Evaluate field conditions and develop practical engineering solutions

  • Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and industry standards

  • Support project teams by providing timely technical guidance throughout project execution

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred

  • 3+ years of structural engineering experience within structural steel construction, fabrication, or erection

  • Strong understanding of structural steel design, connection design, and erection methodologies

  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design software

  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings

  • Knowledge of AISC, IBC, OSHA, and applicable structural design standards

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience supporting structural steel erection contractors

  • Experience designing temporary bracing, rigging, lifting plans, or erection sequencing

  • Experience with Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, RISA-3D, RAM Steel, STAAD.Pro, or similar engineering software

  • Experience working on large commercial or industrial structural steel projects

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
