Job Description

This role focuses on structural engineering analysis and design for bridges and transportation-related structures. You will primarily work on bridge structural design and inspection while contributing to a variety of structural projects. The position offers the opportunity to lead simple to moderately complex assignments, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support projects throughout design and construction. The role includes a hybrid work structure, exposure to a broad range of public and private sector clients, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering analysis and design for bridge and transportation-related structures.
• Serve as the lead designer on simple to moderately complex structural engineering assignments.
• Support and participate in site investigations to document existing conditions, including bridge inspections.
• Perform site inspections for work engineered by the office to verify compliance with design intent and standards.
• Complete and review structural design calculations to ensure accuracy, safety, and code compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of detailed drawings and specifications for structural projects.
• Provide timely responses and practical solutions to issues arising during the construction administration phase.
• Coordinate work products and deliverables with in-house engineering staff and architects to ensure integrated project outcomes.
• Apply relevant codes and standards to the design and review of structural systems.
• Contribute to transportation design efforts, particularly for New York City-related projects.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Approximately 7+ years of experience in structural engineering.
• Strong background in structural engineering, including structural analysis and structural design.
• Hands-on experience with concrete, structural steel, and masonry structures.
• Experience with bridge and transportation-related structural design.
• Experience working with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and NJDOT standards and requirements.
• Proficient understanding and application of structural and building code requirements.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for structural design and documentation.
• Ability to lead simple to moderately complex design assignments and manage associated tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is a plus.
• NY or NJ PE license is a plus.
• Experience in transportation design for urban environments, including New York City, is beneficial.
• Strong coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and other engineers.
• Ability to conduct thorough site investigations and bridge inspections.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address construction-phase issues effectively.

This is a Permanent position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
