    Acts as staff specialist in providing technical guidance for complex or unique assignments. The incumbent must be capable of applying diversified knowledge of design engineering principles and practices and independently making decisions on significant design engineering problems or methods.

    • Requires a 4-year engineering degree and typically 8-11 years' related experience. Professional registration is required at this level. Incumbent must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments.

    Travel Required

    • Yes, up to 25% travel may be necessary.
    • Participates in the development of project design concepts and criteria.
    • Makes recommendations on project staffing.
    • Analyzes complex design problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures.
    • Consults with construction personnel concerning design constructability.
    • Monitors project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget.
    • Provides input for proposals, engages with proposal teams, managers
    • Represents respective projects at meetings and conferences.
