Job Summary

We are seeking a Composite Structural Engineer with strong experience in product design, structural analysis, manufacturing technology, and product testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SolidWorks, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, and FEA along with knowledge of various manufacturing processes and materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop products using 2D drawings and 3D SolidWorks modeling.

• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMEA, and FEA methodologies.

• Support product design and manufacturing technology activities.

• Design for sheet metal fabrication, plastic molding, casting, and related manufacturing processes.

• Select appropriate metal and polymer materials based on product requirements.

• Perform engineering calculations and FEA modeling to evaluate product performance.

• Build test samples and operate test equipment.

• Develop test procedures and conduct functional testing.

• Analyze test results and correlate findings with product performance.

• Investigate failure modes and quantify margins to failure.

• Support problem-solving and product improvement initiatives.

• Participate in Value Engineering (VAVE) and cost-reduction activities.

• Manage projects from concept through completion with minimal guidance.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other cross-functional teams.

• Travel up to 10% overnight as required.

Required Skills

• Product design and manufacturing technology experience.

• Proficiency with SolidWorks and PDM.

• Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up.

• Experience with DFMEA and FEA.

• Knowledge of sheet metal, plastics, and casting processes.

• Understanding of metal and polymer material selection.

• Strong engineering calculation and problem-solving skills.

• Hands-on product testing and validation experience.

• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
