Structural Engineer

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Columbia, MO area. Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer to design and review steel structures and connections.

Position Responsibilities:

- Perform structural analysis and design for steel structures and connections

- Prepare and review calculations and drawings

- Support project, detailing, and estimating teams

- Review shop drawings and resolve design issues

- Ensure designs comply with codes and project requirements

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Design members and connections to AISC and IBC

- Use analysis software such as RISA or STAAD

- Seal or support sealed calculations where licensed

- Respond to RFIs and design changes

- Coordinate with architects, engineers of record, and clients

Position Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering

- 3+ years of structural engineering experience

- PE license preferred or required for senior roles

- Strong knowledge of AISC design standards

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
