    Description

    DPP is seeking a Structural Engineer 3 for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing industry.
     
    Work location: Onsite in Chandler, AZ
    Work schedule: 9x80 A shift
    Duration: 12 months
    Terms: W2 contract
    Work authorization: US Citizen; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Government secret security clearance
     
    Responsibilities:

    • Structural Engineer 3 will support the Mechanical and Energetics department.
    • As a member of the M&E department, you’ll get to work alongside a dynamic team performing structural analysis on launch vehicles and ground support components.
    • Analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
    • Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
    • Tools will include NX CAD software and FEA.
    Basic qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years related engineering experience;
    • OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 3 years related engineering experience;
    • OR Ph.D. degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 1 year of experience
    • Must be able to obtain/maintain a US Government Secret security clearance, or higher
    • Strong structural analysis background with demonstrated work experience and knowledge
    • Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
    • Computer skills with standard word processing/spreadsheet experience
    • Ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion
    Preferred qualifications:
    • MS, or PhD in related field
    • Active US Government Secret security clearance, or higher at the time of application
    • Experience working with high-performance flight structures
    • FEMAP, NX NASTRAN finite element analysis software
    • ANSYS, ABAQUS, and other software package experience also considered
    • Research and experience working with high temperatures, and effects in structural mechanics
    • Thermal loading, advanced high temperature materials, structural responses, and development testing
    • Working knowledge of CMC material systems
    • Scripting and AI use in fields of engineering and data sciences
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    US Citizen: This role requires the ability to obtain a Secret US security clearance, which requires a thorough background search and US citizenship. Residency requirements may apply.
