Structural Designer

gpac, a recruiting firm with 30+ years in business, is partnered with a well-established company in the structural steel and metals fabrication industry in the Kansas City, MO area. Our client is seeking a Structural Designer to support engineering and design work on steel structures.

Position Responsibilities:

- Prepare structural design drawings and models

- Support engineers with calculations and design documentation

- Coordinate design information with detailing and project teams

- Incorporate revisions and design changes

- Maintain drawing standards and documentation

Position Essential Job Functions:

- Develop plans, sections, and details in CAD or 3D software

- Review drawings for accuracy and constructability

- Assist with connection and member sizing under engineer review

- Respond to RFIs with the engineering team

- Organize design files and revisions

Position Skills:

- 2+ years of structural design or drafting experience

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla Structures, or SDS2

- Working knowledge of steel design and AISC standards

- Strong attention to detail

- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology or related field preferred
