Structural Concrete Foreman — Commercial Projects | Hood Construction | Columbia, SC

A day in the life

You arrive on site before the crew, review the pour plan, and walk the forms. You verify rebar placement, coordinate pump logistics, and touch base with the superintendent and inspectors. As the sun comes up, you brief the team, assign tasks, and execute the pour—tracking quality, schedule, and safety the whole way. By day’s end, the slab is finished, the site is clean, and tomorrow’s work is lined up.

What you’ll lead

  • Full-cycle commercial concrete operations: foundations, slabs, columns, walls, and flatwork
  • Daily supervision of concrete crews on active job sites, driving productivity and safety
  • Plan reading and execution: interpret structural drawings/specs; coordinate formwork, rebar, and placement methods
  • Quality control: confirm tolerances, finishes, and cure procedures meet standards
  • Safety leadership: enforce OSHA and jobsite protocols
  • Trade coordination: work with project management, inspectors, and other trades to protect the schedule
  • Proactive communication: surface issues early so there are no surprises

What you bring

  • 5+ years of commercial concrete experience, including 2+ years leading a crew/foreman responsibility
  • Hands-on knowledge of forming systems, reinforcing, ACI standards, and applicable building codes
  • Fluency reading structural plans and specifications
  • Clear, steady leadership and communication that moves work forward
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
