    STRUCTURAL ANALYST – JOB #1143

Analyze the Structure. Understand the Loads. Help Keep Aircraft Flying Safely.

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation is seeking a Structural Analyst to support the design, evaluation, substantiation, and continued airworthiness of helicopter structures and structural components.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys digging into the details of how aircraft structures behave under real-world loads. You’ll apply engineering fundamentals and analytical methods to evaluate stress, deformation, fatigue, durability, damage tolerance, structural integrity, and compliance with applicable requirements.

You’ll work closely with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Certification, Flight Test, and other technical teams to guide design decisions, solve structural challenges, and produce clear, defensible analysis in support of Enstrom aircraft.

If you enjoy combining engineering fundamentals, structural analysis, and practical problem-solving, this is an opportunity to work directly on real aircraft and meaningful technical challenges.

    Location: Menominee, Michigan
    Status: Full-Time, On-Site, Salary, Exempt
Reports To: Head of Structural Analysis

    What You’ll Do

You’ll support Enstrom’s structural engineering work by:

    • Performing static strength, stiffness, stability, fatigue, durability, and damage-tolerance analyses of aircraft structures and structural components.

    • Developing and documenting free-body diagrams, load paths, analytical models, assumptions, boundary conditions, calculations, results, and margins of safety.

    • Using classical hand-analysis methods, finite element analysis, and other appropriate analytical tools to evaluate structural behavior.

    • Developing, reviewing, and interpreting structural loads and load cases for components, assemblies, installations, and aircraft conditions.

    • Evaluating metallic, composite, bonded, fastened, welded, and other structural configurations.

    • Reviewing engineering drawings, models, specifications, reports, and change documentation for structural adequacy and consistency.

    • Preparing stress reports, structural substantiation reports, compliance documentation, presentations, and other engineering records.

    • Supporting structural test planning, instrumentation requirements, test monitoring, data review, and correlation of analytical and test results.

Help Solve Real Aircraft Structural Challenges

This role is closely connected to design, production, testing, and in-service aircraft support.

    You’ll:

    • Provide structural guidance to design engineers and recommend practical improvements involving strength, weight, durability, manufacturability, maintainability, and inspectability.

    • Identify critical structural locations, failure modes, analytical limitations, and technical risks.

    • Evaluate the structural impact of proposed design changes, repairs, substitutions, and deviations.

    • Support investigations involving production, test, or in-service structural concerns.

    • Help develop appropriate inspection requirements, maintenance criteria, life limits, or other continued-airworthiness provisions when supported by structural analysis.

    • Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Certification, Flight Test, and Service teams.

    • Review supplier analyses, material data, test results, and technical documentation when assigned.

    What We’re Looking For

    Successful candidates will typically bring:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.

    • Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, structural mechanics, and engineering mathematics.

    • The ability to perform and document classical stress, deflection, buckling, joint, fastener, and stability calculations.

    • An understanding of structural load paths and the behavior of components, joints, assemblies, and airframe structures.

    • Working knowledge of finite element modeling, model verification, boundary conditions, meshing, and interpretation of analysis results.

    • Knowledge of fatigue, durability, fracture mechanics, and damage-tolerance concepts.

    • The ability to select and apply appropriate material properties, structural allowables, factors of safety, and analytical methods.

    • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, test plans, standards, and technical reports.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • The ability to manage multiple assignments, models, priorities, and deadlines while collaborating across technical teams.

    Early-Career Candidates Are Welcome

Relevant full-time experience is valuable, but we also encourage candidates with strong technical foundations and relevant project experience to apply.

    Experience may come from:

    • Internships or co-op assignments.

    • Structural analysis or stress-analysis coursework.

    • Senior design or capstone projects.

    • Finite element modeling projects.

    • Aircraft structures or aerospace research.

    • Formula SAE, Baja SAE, UAV, rocketry, or other engineering teams.

    • Structural testing, laboratory work, or technical research.

    Even Better If You Have

    • Experience performing classical stress calculations and evaluating structural load paths.

    • Experience with finite element modeling and analysis software.

    • Knowledge of metallic or composite aircraft structures.

    • Experience with fatigue, fracture mechanics, or damage-tolerance analysis.

    • Experience reviewing structural test data and substantiation documentation.

    • Aviation or aerospace manufacturing experience.

    • Experience supporting FAA-regulated product development or certification activities.

    Why Enstrom?

At Enstrom, structural analysis is directly connected to aircraft design, manufacturing, testing, certification, and continued airworthiness.

You’ll have the opportunity to see how your analysis influences real design decisions, production solutions, structural testing, and aircraft support.
