PGS Worldwide is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer in Chandler, AZ for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Structural Analysis Engineer will perform structural analysis on launch vehicles, missiles, and ground-support components. This role includes finite element modeling, damage-tolerance and durability analysis, stress and fatigue evaluation, and assessment of structural performance under thermal and mechanical loads.
Required Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related engineering experience, master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of related engineering experience, or PhD in a STEM discipline with 1+ year of related experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance or higher.
• Strong structural analysis background with demonstrated professional experience.
• Finite Element Analysis experience.
• Experience performing structural modeling and evaluating structural performance.
• Ability to analyze damage tolerance, durability, design allowables, stability, stress, fatigue, dynamics, loads, or thermal effects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with standard word-processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to follow technical direction, take initiative, manage assigned tasks, and complete work on schedule.
Preferred Skills
• Master’s degree or PhD in a related discipline.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance or higher.
• Experience with high-performance flight structures.
• FEMAP experience.
• NX NASTRAN experience.
• ANSYS, ABAQUS, or comparable structural-analysis software experience.
• Nonlinear structural-analysis experience.
• Experience with high-temperature structural mechanics, thermal loading, advanced materials, structural response, or development testing.
• Knowledge of ceramic matrix composite material systems.
• Experience using scripting or artificial intelligence tools for engineering or data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
What You’ll Do
• Perform structural analysis on launch vehicle, missile, and ground-support hardware.
• Develop and evaluate finite element models.
• Analyze damage tolerance, durability, structural allowables, stress, fatigue, stability, dynamics, and loads.
• Assess structural response to thermal and high-temperature environments.
• Review engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Use structural-analysis results to support engineering decisions and product development.
• Collaborate with mechanical, energetics, test, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Document analysis methods, assumptions, results, and recommendations.

• $80.00 per hour
