Job Summary
The Stroke Coordinator has clinical responsibilities and is a resource to staff, management, physicians, patients and other health team members regarding nursing care practice, with an emphasis in the area of acute stroke care. The major functions of the Stroke Coordinator are: (1) Professional consultation for Acute Strokes; (2) Drive Quality Clinical Outcomes; (3) Serve as a resource for patient education/staff development; and (4) Provide Program/administrative support.

Ability to present clinical information to a wide variety of audiences;
Knowledge regarding program development, implementation, and evaluation;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are necessary;
Familiarity with PC-based software for word processing, spreadsheet, database and statistics is required; Effectiveness as a change agent and the ability to influence without direct accountability;
In-depth understanding of proper data collection techniques and reporting methods for analyzing and utilizing data;
Understanding good clinical guidelines principles.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Experience:
Current clinical experience in Neurology and/or Neurosurgery;
Demonstrated current knowledge of program development, adult learning theory;
Strong communication skills and presentation abilities;
Prior experience demonstrating the ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize and organize work, analyze data;
Must possess effective interpersonal and leadership skills
Licensure/Certifications: Arizona State RN License; BCLS & ALCS Training;
Preferred Requirements
Education: Masters Degree
Experience: Advanced Computer experience preferred
Licensure/Certifications: NIHSS Certification; CNRN, SCRN or NVRN-BC or attaining certification
