Description

St. Thomas Aquinas College invites applications for the position of Part-Time Strength and Conditioning Coach. The Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for the organization, supervision, and administration of the College's strength and conditioning program, including the development and implementation of training programs designed to enhance the performance, health, and safety of student-athletes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Oversee all fitness, strength, and conditioning activities for student-athletes.
  • Design and implement innovative strength, conditioning, speed, and agility programs.
  • Coordinate and schedule strength and conditioning activities in collaboration with the Director of Athletics.
  • Supervise the operation and safe use of the Fitness Center.
  • Promote and maintain prudent risk management practices within the strength and conditioning program.
  • Develop annual budget recommendations, including equipment needs and other operational expenses.
  • Assist in maintaining and replacing strength and conditioning equipment as needed.
  • Provide guidance to student-athletes regarding physical conditioning, injury prevention, and overall fitness.
  • Collaborate with coaches and athletic training staff to support student-athlete development and performance.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive environment for all student-athletes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Recreation Studies, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience administering strength and conditioning programs, preferably at the collegiate level.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff.

Preferred:

  • Collegiate strength and conditioning coaching experience.
  • Experience with budget planning and equipment management.
  • Fundraising experience.

The salary range for this position is $15,000-$17,000 per year.
