    Job Overview

    OrthoArizona is seeking to become the leader in the field of comprehensive Musculo-skeletal training and treatment provision for athletes and Youth Sports. With multiple facilities distributed across the Greater Phoenix region, we are best placed to provide premier levels of coaching to individuals, teams, and communities towards achieving higher levels of performance. As we develop and expand, we are pioneering the delivery of evidence-informed practice across training, movement and sports / medical science to lead the field in athlete development & return to performance from injury.
     
    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Strength and Conditioning Coach Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching individuals and teams to enhance their performance, achieve goals, and unlock their full potential, to join our growing team and deliver our athlete development programs under the guidance of our Director of Athletic Development. We are seeking energetic team players with experience in strength & conditioning to join our integrated delivery team.
    These positions will have a focus on delivering sports-specific team programs for our partner clubs & schools, as well as working with other organizations within our customer base, across the greater Phoenix region as our network expands. The coaching work will typically (although not exclusively) be in the afternoons and evenings, and may include weekend work. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced coach assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching individuals and teams to enhance their performance, achieve goals, and unlock their full potential.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in coaching athletes in a safe, professional, and ethical manner to help them achieve performance goals
    • Support on-site athlete assessments, data collection, and program adjustments to optimize outcomes
    • Assist in the implementation and progression of individualized and group training programs
    • Collaborate with the Director of Athletic Performance to support the growth and consistency of the Sports Performance program across the Phoenix area
    • Deliver high-quality training sessions with a focus on technique, effort, and athlete engagement
    • Contribute to program design, evaluation, and ongoing development of performance systems
    • Apply foundational knowledge of sport-specific training across multiple sports (e.g., football, baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball, hockey, lacrosse, golf, swimming, etc.)
    • Ensure training methods are developmentally appropriate for athletes of varying ages and skill levels
    • Assist with outreach efforts to support relationships with local teams, organizations, and individual athletes
    • Participate in continuing education and staff development initiatives within OrthoArizona
    • Maintain accurate documentation and communication related to athlete progress and programming
    • Travel as needed to support training, events, or team coverage

    Qualifications

    • 1-3 years of experience in sports performance training
    • Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science or equivalent program
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to motivate and inspire clients to achieve their best.
    • Creative, detailed thinker capable of bridging the gap from Physical Therapy to performance and progressing clients to reach their performance goals
