The Estimating Implementation Manager owns and drives the planning, coordination, execution and adoption of strategic initiatives across the estimating function and its key business partners. This role is responsible for translating business strategy into actionable implementation plans, establishing clear visibility into priorities and progress, and ensuring initiatives deliver measurable, sustainable operational improvements.
The successful candidate will bring strong project or program management, operational improvement, and stakeholder engagement skills to manage multiple initiative, coordinate cross-functional teams, anticipate delivery risks, and move projects from concept through implementation and sustained adoption while tracking and presenting KPIs to interested parties.
Operating at the intersection of National Estimating, Architecture, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Construction Operations, this position serves as a hands on driver and coordinator. The role partners closely with cross functional stakeholders to translate estimating strategy into actionable plans, track performance through clear KPIs, visualize progress and capacity needs, and ensure estimating initiatives deliver measurable, sustainable results for a national homebuilder.
- Experience in homebuilding, construction, estimating, or a related operational environment is valuable. However, candidates with transferable experience leading complex, cross-functional projects, business transformation, process improvement, or enterprise-wide implementations in other industries are encouraged to apply.
Essential responsibilities include the following.
- Own and maintain a centralized portfolio of estimating-related initiatives and workflows, providing visibility into scope, ownership, priorities, milestones, dependencies, status, and expected outcomes across the organization.
- Partner with Estimating leadership to translate strategic priorities into executable implementation plans, establishing clear deliverables, accountabilities, timelines, dependencies, and success measures.
- Establish and maintain effective project governance, including progress reviews, action tracking, risk and issue management, decision logs, and escalation processes to keep initiatives on track.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, presentations, and performance reports that provide leadership with actionable insights into implementation progress, business outcomes, operational readiness, risks, and resource capacity.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration across National Estimating, Architecture, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Construction Operations, and division-level teams, building stakeholder alignment and influencing priorities without relying on direct authority.
- Assess workloads, resource capacity, dependencies, and competing priorities to support realistic delivery timelines, effective sequencing, and informed resource-allocation decisions.
- Lead implementation and change-management activities to ensure initiatives are successfully delivered, adopted, and embedded into day-to-day operations, addressing barriers to adoption and supporting long-term sustainability.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, standardize processes, and improve operational performance, using implementation results, performance data, stakeholder feedback, and lessons learned to drive measurable, continuous improvement.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field and at least 6 years' experience, including 3+ years in project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating cross-functional projects, programs, implementations, or operational improvement initiatives from planning through delivery and adoption.
- Experience managing multiple workstreams, stakeholders, dependencies, milestones, risks, and competing priorities in a complex organizational environment.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to develop performance dashboards, track KPIs, prepare management presentations, and translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence without direct authority, and engage effectively with both senior leadership and operational teams.
- Experience in change management, process improvement, business transformation, or the implementation of new systems, workflows, or operating procedures is highly desirable.
- Construction, homebuilding, estimating, architecture, purchasing, or supply chain experience is an advantage, but relevant project management and implementation experience from other industries is also valued.
Formal project or program management training or certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP, etc) preferred but not required.
