    Marketing Services & Solutions (MSS), a division of University Relations and Marketing, is seeking a Strategic Engagement and Communication Specialist. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

    Marketing Services & Solutions (MSS), a division of University Relations and Marketing, is Oregon State University's integrated marketing, creative services, production, event, and engagement organization.     Key Responsibilities

    • Develop content for web, email, presentations, social media, reports, and marketing materials.

    • Translate complex initiatives and research into clear, compelling communications

    • Plan and execute events, meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagement activities.

    • Support communications strategies, marketing campaigns, and audience engagement efforts.

    • Coordinate multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

    • Advance university-wide strategic initiatives through communications, outreach, and project support.

    • Build relationships with university leaders, faculty, researchers, and external partners.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • 3 years of demonstrated experience in communications, marketing, public relations, project management, event planning, or a related field.

    • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.

    • Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to build effective working relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

    • Experience utilizing project management and collaboration tools.

    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

    This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. 

    This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030. 

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in higher education, research, nonprofit, government, healthcare, or similarly complex organizations.

    • Experience supporting strategic initiatives, organizational priorities, or cross-functional projects.

    • Familiarity with integrated marketing and communications planning.

    • Experience participating in creative development, campaign planning, or brand implementation efforts.

    • Experience developing content for multiple communication channels and audiences.

    • Experience planning and executing events ranging from executive-level meetings to large public-facing programs.

    • Experience working with senior leaders, faculty, researchers, community partners, and industry stakeholders.

    Working Conditions/Schedule:

    • Typical work schedule is Monday thru Friday, but this position does require occasional evening and weekend work.
    • This position primarily works in a typical office setting, but does require travel. Travel can be both local and overnight as needed for support of engagement events, site visits, etc…
