Position Overview
The Strategic Accounts SalesDirector is a senior individual contributor role focused on developing, managing, and growing business relationships with key behavioral health and mental health organizations across the Western U.S., including California, Washington, Nevada, and Hawaii. This role requires deep knowledge of the behavioral health ecosystem and the ability to build trusted relationships at the executive level within large healthcare systems, provider networks, community mental health centers, and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
As a strategic partner, you will drive adoption of AHCS’s specialty pharmacy services, behavioral health solutions, and targeted therapies—helping providers optimize care while ensuring better access for patients.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sales Execution
- Achieve sales targets for assigned strategic accounts by promoting AHCS’s pharmacy and behavioral health offerings.
- Identify and win new business opportunities with large behavioral health entities, community-based organizations, and hospital systems.
- Develop and implement strategic account plans tailored to each organization’s structure, priorities, and care delivery model.
- Conduct in-person or virtual meetings with executive decision-makers and clinical leadership to uncover needs, position value, and close business.
- Effectively coordinate efforts with the Advantage field sales team to pull-through opportunities at the local level.
- Partner with pharmaceutical manufacturer field teams to align efforts and increase prescriptions directed to AHCS.
2. Executive Relationship Development
- Build deep, trust-based relationships with executive stakeholders (e.g., CEOs, CMOs, COOs, VPs of Pharmacy, Behavioral Health Directors).
- Map out organizational structures and develop engagement strategies across complex systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact and strategic advisor for assigned accounts.
3. Territory & Account Management
- Manage a portfolio of high-value accounts across WA, NV, HI (and potentially additional Western states).
- Maintain a high level of field presence and conduct regular site visits.
- Utilize CRM tools to document interactions, track opportunities, and manage pipeline and forecasting activities.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients and internal leadership.
4. Industry Knowledge & Thought Leadership
- Demonstrate expertise in behavioral health pharmacy services and related specialty therapies.
- Stay informed about market trends, regulatory developments, payer policies, and innovations in mental health and addiction treatment.
- Maintain strong working knowledge of AHCS product offerings, clinical benefits, and reimbursement pathways.
5. Internal Collaboration
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders, including pharmacy operations, reimbursement, clinical, and marketing teams, to ensure client success.
- Provide field intelligence and feedback to support marketing and product development efforts.
- Collaborate with payer relations and managed care teams to address insurance and access issues.
6. Compliance & Ethics
- Always represent AHCS in a professional and ethical manner.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and company standards for patient and client confidentiality.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in strategic healthcare sales, account management, or business development.
- Strong background or established relationships in behavioral/mental health, community health, or specialty pharmacy.
- Demonstrated success selling into executive-level stakeholders at health systems, community mental health centers, or integrated care organizations.
- Proven ability to build strategic partnerships and close complex deals.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Must reside in Western U.S. and be willing to travel frequently.
