    Strategic Account Operations & Analytics Manager
     
    Mid-States Bolt & Screw, a trusted industrial distributor, is seeking a Strategic Account Operations & Analytics Manager to lead the operational performance, inventory management, data analysis, and day-to-day execution supporting assigned strategic customer accounts, including a key automotive OEM customer.  This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Burton, Michigan.
     
    Job Summary
    This role serves as a critical link between the customer and Mid-States Bolt & Screw Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance teams. The position uses Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) and other analytical tools to monitor inventory, demand, order activity, service performance, usage trends, and emerging risks.
     
    This is a hands-on analytical and operational role requiring strong distribution experience, inventory knowledge, ERP expertise, and the ability to support the demanding service and reporting requirements of a major automotive OEM customer. The successful candidate will identify issues before they impact the customer, investigate root causes, recommend solutions, and drive cross-functional follow-through.
     
    Key Responsibilities
    Strategic Account & Automotive OEM Support
    • Serve as a key operational and analytical resource for assigned strategic accounts, including a major automotive OEM customer.
    • Develop a strong understanding of customer requirements, ordering patterns, inventory programs, service expectations, and operational priorities.
    • Provide timely and accurate analysis of customer activity, inventory position, demand, order status, shortages, backorders, and other service-related metrics.
    • Work closely with Sales and operational leadership to anticipate customer needs and proactively identify potential service or supply issues.
    • Support customer meetings, business reviews, reporting requirements, and follow-up activities as needed.
    • Coordinate across Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, and other functions to resolve customer issues and ensure commitments are met.
    • Maintain a high level of responsiveness and urgency when addressing issues that could impact on the customer's operations or production.
    P21, Data & Analytics
    • Utilize Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) as a primary tool for analyzing customer, inventory, purchasing, order, and operational data.
    • Extract, analyze, and interpret P21 data to identify trends, exceptions, risks, and opportunities.
    • Develop recurring and ad hoc reports that provide visibility into strategic account performance.
    • Analyze customer usage, demand patterns, inventory levels, open orders, purchasing activity, lead times, and service performance.
    • Identify data inconsistencies and work with appropriate teams to improve ERP data accuracy and reporting reliability.
    • Translate complex operational data into clear recommendations and actionable information for management.
    • Utilize Excel and other analytical tools to supplement P21 reporting and perform detailed analysis.
    Inventory & Supply Chain Management
    • Monitor inventory supporting assigned strategic accounts and identify potential shortages, excess inventory, slow-moving inventory, and demand changes.
    • Analyze historical usage and anticipated customer demand to support appropriate inventory levels.
    • Partner with Purchasing and Supply Chain to evaluate replenishment requirements, supplier lead times, purchase orders, and material availability.
    • Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify underlying causes.
    • Support inventory optimization initiatives that balance customer service requirements with working-capital objectives.
    • Monitor material availability and escalate potential risks before they impact customer requirements.
    Operational Performance
    • Monitor order flow and operational execution from customer demand through purchasing, inventory, fulfillment, and delivery.
    • Identify recurring process failures, service issues, and operational inefficiencies.
    • Perform root-cause analysis and work cross-functionally to implement sustainable corrective actions.
    • Establish and monitor appropriate KPIs for strategic accounts, including inventory availability, shortages, backorders, order accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory turns, and other relevant service measures.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to strategic account operations, inventory management, and customer service.
    • Help create greater process discipline, visibility, and accountability around strategic account execution.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Analytics, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
    • 5+ years of experience in industrial distribution, supply chain, inventory management, operations, or strategic account support.
    • Experience supporting automotive OEM customers or automotive supply-chain operations strongly preferred.
    • Strong working knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, order fulfillment, distribution operations, and supply-chain processes.
    • Hands-on Epicor Prophet 21 (P21) experience strongly preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to extract, analyze, and interpret ERP data.
    • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large data sets and develop meaningful operational reporting.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.
    • Ability to work effectively across Sales, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and customer organizations.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
    • High sense of urgency, attention to detail, and accountability.
