    This is a full-time grant-funded position. This position is contingent upon annual funding renewal and the ongoing availability of grant funds and may be terminated due to insufficient grant funding.

    • Oversees the continued success of the Buzzards Bay Stormwater Collaborative, a partnership between the Buzzards Bay National Estuary Program (BBNEP), Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA), and multiple municipalities.
    • Advertises and executes town Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs)
    • Executes and supervises field operations, including stormwater sampling, work orders, coordinating with certified laboratories, data sheets, and field note keeping
    • Safely and effectively uses field tools, including sledgehammers and mattock picks
    • Conducts outfall and Best Management Practices (BMP) parcel inventorying
    • Coordinates work study program for MMA students as part of the Buzzards Bay Stormwater Collaborative
    • Provides field training for students and Department of Public Works personnel each semester
    • Well-versed in MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) permitting and IDDE (Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination) requirements
    • Coordinates and teaches on-campus Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination workshops
    • Presents at statewide stormwater coalition meetings
    • Assists program manager in budgeting and fiscal year reporting
    • Exhibits strong data management organization via Excel, GIS georeferencing and structure digitization
    • Utilizes Geode tablets, including pairing and conducting GPS data collection
    • Schedules for work six months in advance between municipalities and the MMA Marine Department
    • Demonstrates proficiency using equipment including smoke machines, jetters, and generators
    • Reviews and updates MSDS sheets and safety training records regularly
    • Maintains lab equipment inventory, purchasing history, and calibration of instrumentation
    • Has the ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing 40 lbs. or more
