Position Overview

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, including team leadership, customer service, sales performance, inventory management, and maintaining a welcoming environment for pets and their owners.

The ideal candidate is a motivated leader who loves animals, enjoys building relationships, and has experience managing a retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and motivate store associates to deliver exceptional customer service
• Oversee daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures and workflow management
• Provide personalized product recommendations based on customer and pet needs
• Drive sales growth through customer engagement, community outreach, and team performance
• Manage inventory levels, product ordering, receiving, and merchandising
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting retail environment
• Build strong relationships with customers and create repeat business through trust and education
• Handle customer questions, concerns, and resolutions professionally
• Monitor sales goals, performance metrics, and operational standards
• Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail management or leadership experience preferred
• Passion for animals and interest in pet nutrition and wellness
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Experience with inventory management and retail operations
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed
• Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in pet retail, specialty retail, natural foods, or wellness-focused industries
