    Description

    Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday 10:00 AM - 6 PM (58 bi-weekly hours).

    This position is responsible for :

    • Managing the day-to-day operations at the Family Store.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Intake, process, and price donations
    • Work point-of-sale operations to ensure an efficient and profitable operation.
    • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate store employees and volunteers.
    • Ensure excellent customer service.
    • Ensure the store remains clean, safe, stocked, and compliant with The Salvation Army policies, procedures, and operational best practices.

    Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

    • Knowledge of effective and efficient techniques for producing and sustaining profit over a long period of time.
    • Knowledge of basic principles and practices of retail store management.
    • Knowledge of fair and reasonable prices for the sale of retail items.
    • Ability to turn a profit and sustain profit over the course of employment.
    • Ability to prepare, maintain, and complete accurate store sales and deposits.

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

    • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
    • Ability to operate a cash register, perform mathematical computations, and count change.
    • Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
    • Physical ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light objects (less than 25lbs)

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or G.E.D. with one year equivalent college coursework in business, finance, or a similar field
    • and
    • Two years of successful experience working in a field where producing and sustaining profit is a requirement, with at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity,
    • or
    • any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Valid State Driver's License
