Store Manager

Location: Merrillville Ace Hardware

Reports to: Owner/Operator

Overview:

Merrillville Ace Hardware is seeking a hands-on Store

Manager who will take ownership of store operations, drive sales, and lead a

team focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience. This is a

full-time, leadership role ideal for someone with a retail management

background and a passion for community-based service.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Operations & Leadership

• • Manage daily operations including

opening/closing, merchandising, and customer service

• • Lead and support the team to meet sales goals,

control costs, and drive overall store performance

• • Ensure the store is fully stocked, clean,

organized, and "Customer Ready" at all times

Customer Experience

• • Promote a culture of service and ensure every

customer has a positive in-store experience

• • Resolve escalated customer issues promptly and

professionally

• • Oversee the implementation of Ace Rewards and

other promotional programs

Team Management

• • Train, and develop store associates
• • Delegate daily responsibilities and set clear

expectations

• • Motivate the team through coaching, feedback,

and accountability

Inventory & Merchandising

• • Maintain accurate inventory counts and manage

product replenishment

• • Execute seasonal floor sets, promotional

signage, and end cap displays

• • Monitor shrink and implement best practices to

reduce loss

Maintenance & Safety

• • Oversee store appearance, repairs, and

preventative maintenance

• • Ensure safety protocols and company standards

are followed

Qualifications:

• • High school diploma or GED required; college

preferred

• • 2+ years of retail management experience,

hardware knowledge a plus

• • Strong leadership, time management, and

communication skills

• • Ability to lift 50 lbs and be on your feet for

extended periods

• • Proficient in retail systems and POS

technology (Eagle, Acenet, etc.)
