The Store Design Manager will be responsible for supporting the design, development, and implementation of new store locations, redesigns & rehabs, special projects, and new retail initiatives within Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. You will be accountable for ensuring projects are within the approved budgets, meet scheduled completion dates, and align with Disney's expectations of quality and excellence. This role will be a leading contact for external architectural firms for store design projects and will work collaboratively with internal business partners including but not limited to Site Operations, Facility Asset Management, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

You will report to the Director, Store Design & Development

This is a Full-Time role.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the store design process from development through execution for multiple store design projects, including concept, management of external architectural firms, and providing finish and fixture specifications.
  • Supports strategic planning and business development. Acts as the liaison between merchandise, operations, Facility Asset Management, and Walt Disney Imagineering.
  • Responsible for ensuring the layout/design of a retail store meets prescribed requirements. Review and modify vendor shop drawings to ensure compliance with design intent and Disney quality standards.
  • Develop and recommend cost optimization and savings opportunities.
  • Support positive vendor relationships, contracts, and accountability with multiple external consultants and vendors.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of brand guidelines for core footprint - fixture specs and colors, decor elements, floor plan, and layouts - to ensure assets are appropriately updated.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 6+ years of Retail Store Design leadership experience
  • Experience in the architecture of retail stores and store build-out processes from inception to closeout
  • Excellent project management skills including the ability to lead multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of store design, branding, and presentation strategies/concepts; understanding of how each affects the customer experience
  • Experience developing building plans, preliminary layouts, fixture plans, construction documents, and specifications
  • Solid understanding of retail store design and its guiding principles/theories/values
  • Ability to effectively convey ideas and concepts graphically including reading and understanding AutoCAD and vendor shop drawings
  • Knowledge of retail trends and environments
  • Proven industry experience designing and developing fixtures/furnishings
  • Understanding of Visual Merchandising / Merchandising
  • Ability to present conceptual designs to Disney executive leadership

The hiring range for this position in Florida is $91,000 to $121,900 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
