Sterile Processing Prod Coordinator
Location: Elmhurst, IL 60126
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night | 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 5 days/week
Local Candidates: Yes – Required
Traveler Candidates: Yes – Accepted
Pay Rate: $20–$26/hr, as per experience
Required Qualifications:
- CRCST or CSPDT certification required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3–5 years of hands-on Sterile Processing Department (SPD) experience
- Strong experience with loaner and consignment tray management
- Experience coordinating with vendors, clinical teams, SPD staff, and leadership
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with instrument tracking software and reporting tools
- Positive and proactive approach with strong accountability
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing loaner and consignment trays
- Verify tray contents before and after sterilization
- Coordinate with vendors, clinical teams, and SPD staff to ensure instruments are processed and ready on time
- Track tray movement throughout the sterilization and return process
- Coordinate daily production workflow with SPD leadership
- Prioritize workloads and resolve delays or workflow issues
- Communicate production goals and operational needs to technicians and leadership
- Provide day-to-day guidance to Production Technicians as needed
- Communicate with hospitals and surgery centers regarding tray status and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate tray movement, sterilization, and performance records
- Generate reports on activity, volume, and areas for improvement
- Maintain documentation for regulatory compliance
- Ensure all loaner and consignment trays are accounted for and ready when needed
- Support process improvement, accuracy, organization, and operational efficiency
