Job Description:
Children's Hospital and Medical Center is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Manager to oversee and support the daily operations of the Sterile Processing Department in a high-volume acute care hospital environment. The manager will provide leadership and operational oversight for SPD services while maintaining accountability for 24/7 department operations, ensuring instruments and supplies are properly processed and available to support surgical and procedural services.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in Sterile Processing, with a proven ability to manage staff, optimize workflows, maintain regulatory and accreditation compliance, and collaborate effectively with Operating Room and other clinical teams. Responsibilities include staffing and scheduling, employee coaching and performance management, quality assurance, inventory and instrumentation oversight, process improvement, and ensuring adherence to applicable infection prevention and sterilization standards.

This position requires excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric hospital environment. The schedule is primarily days with some flexibility between 6:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Travelers must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Requirements:

  • Strong Sterile Processing leadership/management experience.
  • Experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterile processing, sterilization, decontamination, instrumentation, and OR workflows.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, quality, and infection prevention standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-management skills.
  • Ability to oversee and support 24/7 SPD operations.
  • Traveler must reside at least 100 miles from Children's Hospital and Medical Center.
  • Assignment is 13 weeks maximum, with potential Temp-to-Perm opportunity.
