We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Utility Slitter Operator to join our team at our Granite City, IL facility. As a Utility Slitter Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process by operating and maintaining slitting machines to ensure high-quality output. Responsibilities
- Operate slitting machines to cut materials to specified widths and lengths.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on slitting equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency and output.
- Document production data and report any issues to supervisors.
- Assist in training new operators on machine operation and safety procedures.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machine operation is a plus.
- Previous experience as a slitter operator or in a similar manufacturing role preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
