Steel Estimator - Structural & Miscellaneous Steel

We're hiring a Steel Estimator for a steel fabricator and erector serving the East Bay and Northern California. You'll price structural and miscellaneous steel packages for light commercial, residential, and industrial projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform quantity takeoffs and estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel, covering both fabrication and erection
• Review plans and specs, and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities
• Solicit and evaluate quotes for detailing, erection, coatings, and freight
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals for light commercial, residential, and industrial work
• Coordinate with project managers, the shop, and field crews on constructability and handoff

Requirements:

• Steel estimating experience covering both fabrication and erection
• Familiarity with structural and miscellaneous metals packages
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience with estimating software such as Tekla EPM, SDS2, or similar a plus
