Steel Estimator/Project Manager - Fabrication & Erection

We're helping a Kansas City steel fabricator and erector find its next Estimator / Project Manager. The company specializes in structural and miscellaneous steel packages, and this role is designed for an early- to mid-career professional who wants to grow on both the estimating and project management fronts.

Core duties:

• Track job costs and manage the flow of submittals and RFIs
• Estimate structural and miscellaneous steel packages from quantity takeoff to final number
• Work hand in hand with field crews, general contractors, the shop, and detailers
• Build bids and proposals and collect quotes for coatings, erection, and detailing
• Guide awarded projects through fabrication and erection with ownership of schedule, budget, and change orders

Experience and skills:

• Familiar with structural and miscellaneous metals scopes
• Estimating software experience is a plus
• Reads structural and architectural drawings with confidence
• 2-8 years in steel estimating, project management, or a related construction role
• Preferred: a degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent experience

Compensation: $75,000 - $105,000, plus a yearly bonus opportunity and a sign-on bonus for top candidates joining from competitors.
