Lead Instructor: $30/hour
Assistant Instructor: $20/hour
Co-Lead Instructor: $26/hour

About the Role

Snapology of Harvard is hiring enthusiastic, reliable, and engaging Lead, Co-Lead, and Assistant STEAM Instructors for school vacation programs, half-day workshops, full-day programs, and special events throughout the 2026–2027 school year.

Our programs give children the opportunity to explore robotics, engineering, LEGO® building, coding, science, and technology through fun, hands-on activities.

These positions are a great fit for people who enjoy working with children and are looking for flexible, occasional, or seasonal teaching opportunities. Some opportunities will be available during upcoming school vacation weeks and on school days, while others may begin as late as February 2027.

We anticipate opportunities in:

• Harvard
• Lexington
• Marlborough
• Watertown
• Stow
• Surrounding communities

Programs may take place at local schools, community centers, recreation facilities, and other partner locations.

Types of Opportunities

Depending on your availability and experience, opportunities may include:

• School vacation programs
• Half-day workshops
• Full-day programs
• Afternoon or Evening workshops
• Weekend workshops and special events
• Occasional school-day programs
• Additional teaching opportunities as they become available

Some programs may be one-time workshops, while others may run for several days during a school vacation week.

What You’ll Do

As a Snapology Instructor or Assistant Instructor, you will:

• Lead or assist hands-on STEAM programs for children ages approximately 5–14, depending on the program
• Guide students through robotics, engineering, coding, LEGO® building, science, and STEM challenges
• Encourage creativity, teamwork, problem-solving, and curiosity
• Create a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Keep students engaged and help them successfully participate in activities
• Follow Snapology curriculum while bringing your own enthusiasm and personality to the classroom
• Prepare for programs through training and curriculum review
• Help with setup and cleanup
• Communicate professionally with Snapology staff, school partners, and families

Lead and Co-Lead Instructors may also be responsible for preparing, transporting, setting up, and organizing program materials.

Lead, Co-Lead & Assistant Positions

Lead Instructors take primary responsibility for the program, including classroom management, curriculum delivery, preparation, and materials.

Co-Lead Instructors share responsibility for the program with another experienced instructor. Co-leads work together on classroom management, curriculum delivery, preparation, and student support. This can be a great option for instructors who enjoy working as part of a teaching team. In this position one instructor will be responsible for leading the morning activities and the other will be responsible for the afternoon activities.

Assistant Instructors work alongside a Lead or Co-Lead Instructor to support activities, student engagement, classroom management, and setup/cleanup.

Strong classroom management experience is required for Lead and Co-Lead positions, but is not required for Assistant Instructor positions.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for dependable, energetic instructors who:

• Enjoy working with children and creating a fun learning environment
• Have experience working with groups of children
• Have strong classroom management skills for Lead and Co-Lead positions
• Are patient, responsible, organized, and communicative
• Are comfortable learning and teaching STEM concepts
• Can travel reliably to our program locations
• Are enthusiastic about LEGO®, robotics, science, engineering, or technology
• Can work independently or as part of a teaching team

Teaching experience is not required. Experience as a teacher, camp counselor, tutor, coach, babysitter, youth leader, or similar role is valuable.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
• Experience working with children
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to arrive on time and reliably fulfill assigned programs
• Must pass a CORI background check and complete required child safety training
• Ability to lift and transport program materials for Lead and Co-Lead positions
• STEM, education, or teaching experience is a plus, but training is provided

When Are Opportunities Available?

We are currently planning programs for the 2026–2027 school year, including upcoming school vacation weeks and workshops.

Opportunities may begin as early as Fall 2026, while some positions may not begin until January or February 2027.

Because our programs vary throughout the year, there may also be opportunities to pick up additional hours as new workshops, vacation programs, and school partnerships are added.
