    Description

    Job Title: Station Coordinator

    Location: Houma, LA

    Position Overview: The Station Coordinator is responsible for tracking progress on the station’s projects (i.e. budgeted man hours, labor), identifying potential project issues, coordinating project scope changes/contingency plans, and continually keeping all station and work center supervisors informed of project status.

    Key Responsibilities:

    •        Proactively coordinates with work center supervisors and craft supervisors to changes in work scope, identify potential crises, and devises contingency plans.
    •        Develops and delivers progress reports and project milestones within station.
    •        Prepares production reports.
    •        Inputs physical progress.
    •        Provides manpower loading curves based on status of station project.
    •        Effectively communicates project expectations to station members.
    •        Where required, coordinates with work center supervisors for the acquisition of required personnel from other stations/work centers within the Company.
    •        Identifies and addresses issues and conflicts within station with work center supervisors and/or craft supervisors.
    •        Optimizes effort to produce a high-quality work product consistent with Company standards.
    •        Trains and motivates workforce to result in high levels of productivity.
    •        Reads and interprets construction drawings, specifications and other technical guidance documentation.
    •        Familiar with and enforces all Company policies, procedures, work practices and safety standards.
    •        Must be able to work in confined/enclosed spaces.
    •        Must be able to work/climb in elevations greater than 5’.
    •        Must be able to wear/work a respirator when applicable.

    Qualifications:

    •       At least seven (7) years shipbuilding or five (5) years of continuous Company experience in a similar position preferred.

    Skills and Abilities:

    •        Well-organized manager, with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling.
    •        Works well with other craft managers.
    •        Exhibits high energy levels and maintains a good attitude.
    •        Able to perform labor estimates and develop associated manpower schedules.
    •        Familiar with standard marine practice and general specifications for construction/repair.
    •        Has good general knowledge of shipbuilding activities.
    •        Superior problem-solving ability to minimize cost and schedule delay.
