The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is excited to announce an opening for the position of Office Specialist 2 at Priest Lake State Park!
Nestled beneath the Selkirk Mountains just 30 miles south of the Canadian border, Priest Lake State Park is one of northern Idaho's most scenic destinations. Surrounded by forests, mountains, and the crystal-clear waters of Priest Lake, the park offers year-round opportunities for camping, boating, hiking, biking, kayaking, wildlife viewing, Nordic skiing, and more.
As an Office Specialist 2, you will be an important part of the team that keeps Priest Lake State Park running smoothly and provides visitors with a welcoming, high-quality experience. This position supports a broad range of administrative, financial, retail, and visitor service functions and plays a key role in the successful operation of the park store and other day-to-day park activities.
The position also supervises seasonal employees and/or volunteers, helping build and support a strong team through hiring, training, scheduling, work direction, and ongoing guidance. Working closely with park management, staff, visitors, vendors, and the public, the Office Specialist 2 helps ensure park operations are organized, responsive, and ready to meet the needs of a busy and dynamic recreation environment.

The knowledge and experience above can typically be gained through a combination of education, training, and/or work experience performing office support, customer service, records management, financial or retail transactions, and staff or work coordination.
Qualifying experience may include maintaining filing systems and records; reviewing documents for accuracy and compliance with established procedures; using computers, spreadsheet and database software to enter, retrieve, and maintain information; handling cash and performing basic mathematical calculations; maintaining basic financial records; communicating with customers by telephone or in person; and providing work direction, training, or supervision to employees or volunteers.
