    Description

    Hunton Trane, a division of the Hunton Group, is seeking an experienced Field Supervisor to oversee and guide the activities and execution of the HT Startup & Warranty team. The ideal candidate will embody a 'Player/Coach' mentality by ensuring the planning, coordinating, and execution of startup activities for a group of technicians within Applied Commercial HVAC system. The ideal candidate brings expertise with typical commercial system components such as packaged roof top units, air handlers, variable refrigerant systems, air cooled chillers, and cooling towers.     Key Responsibilities

    Startup and Warranty Execution Guidance

    • Ensure the team provides detailed startups according plans and procedures while maintaining scheduled time frames.
    • Leads the coordination of mechanical, electrical, controls, and vendor startup activities into one integrated effort.
    • Verifies the team execution of installed systems operating in accordance with design documents, project specifications, and readiness requirements before startup.
    • Blends mix of direct job responsibilities along with technical team guidance as appropriate.

    Technical Leadership

    • Ensure team preparedness for the startup of commercial systems, including but not limited to specific componentry:
    • Pumps
    • VFD's
    • Heat exchangers
    • Valves, sensors, and instrumentation
    • Building automation systems (BAS)

    Coordination & Communication

    • Sets the standard for the team to communicate with mechanical trades regarding schedules, punch lists, startup and warranty logs and training.
    • Communicates with HT management system readiness requirements, risks, and open issues clearly to all stakeholders.
    • Participate in commissioning meetings, progress reporting, and client updates where applicable.
    • Provides feedback to the Operations Manager on training opportunities, resource planning, manpower planning, scheduling, and customer satisfaction.

    Documentation & Turnover

    • Ensure the completion and accuracy of pre-functional checklists, startup reports, test results, and deficiency logs.
    • Support complete and timely system turnover to the owner and operations teams.

    Safety & Quality

    • Enforce site safety standards throughout all startup and commissioning activities.
    • Conduct risk assessments and establish safe startup sequencing.
    • Ensure quality-control standards are maintained throughout commissioning.
    • Promote a disciplined commissioning culture focused on safety, quality, reliability, and accountability.
