Position Summary The Starts/Permits Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the starts and permits processes for the company. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Preparing detailed permit application packages and submitting them to relevant municipal, county, state, and federal agencies. Acting as the primary point of contact between the company and external authorities having jurisdiction such as building and public works departments. Maintaining comprehensive tracking systems and databases to monitor the status of multiple permit applications simultaneously, providing updates to internal teams, and ensuring deadlines are met. Ensuring all projects and permit applications comply with applicable building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations. This also involves organizing and maintaining accurate records of all permits, licenses, and inspections. Addressing issues identified during the review process, and coordinating necessary revisions to plans or applications to secure approval. Estimating and processing check requests and payments for all permit application, utility, and re-inspection fees. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 2 years or more experience in an administrative or permitting role. Experience with a home builder is a plus. Be self-starter with a sense of urgency, and a willingness to work overtime when necessary. Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, or related programs. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records. Education High school diploma or equivalent Physical Demands and Work Environment Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
