General Job Description:
Energetic and self-motivated Instructor Assistant to help create memorable, positive learning experiences. Working directly with the STARBASE Wright-Patt Director, Deputy Director, and Program Instructors, you will support classroom management and daily STEM instruction. This is an Employee-At-Will position contingent upon continued DoD funding. Please note that this is a specialized DoD outreach role and is a separate entity from regular classroom teacher assistant positions regarding salary and leave.
Key Responsibilities
Support Instruction: Assist 5th-grade students with the DoD STARBASE STEM curriculum using a collaborative co-teaching model.
Manage Classrooms: Set up, tear down, and inventory lesson materials routinely to keep shared classrooms organized.
Build Rapport: Maintain a fun, professional relationship with participating students, visiting classroom teachers, and staff.
Assist Camps: Provide instruction and operational support for summer camp participants as assigned.
Represent the Program: Participate in at least two community outreach events, such as TechFest or the STEM Hoopla Challenge.
