Stamping Supervisor (2nd Shift)

Working with the Quality department, Tool Room, and other management to ensure that the production floor is safely producing quality parts efficiently. Maintains production tooling, as well as the pulling and setting up of jobs in production presses.

We are seeking a Stamping Supervisor on 2nd shift (M-Th, 4pm-4: 30am) who will oversee all production operations in the Product Realization Department. Working with the Quality department, Tool Room, and other management to ensure that the production floor is safely producing quality parts efficiently. This role will work with individual operators and outside departments to help promote personal improvement and continuous improvement across the department.

Job Requirements:

• Responsible for pre-staging all set-ups
• • Tools, dies, chutes, clamping, set up sheets, work instructions and gages required
• Maintains production tooling, as well as the pulling and setting up of jobs in production presses.
• Verifies that operators have proper training, tools, equipment, W.I.P. Product and proper protective equipment to do their job.
• • Communicates to management when items are needed
• Discuss part quality, die condition and die improvements with Quality and Tool Room during Die Assessments
• Contributes information and supports die set-up information
• Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties
• Monitor employee productivity, provide weekly performance reports, give constructive feedback and coaching
• Interview and orchestrate the training of new employees
• Verify team members are on time at start of shift and returning from breaks and lunch
• Work with Team Leaders on kaizen activities to promote continued improvement
• Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa
• Maintain timekeeping and personnel records
• Train and enforce company policies
• Notifies Manager when production rates are not being achieved, as well as scrap and downtime issues that are impeding production
• Communicates with Supervisor of next shift on current production issues and assignments
• Performs area inspections daily for 6-S issues, non-conforming or unidentified product
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Complete assigned Continuous Improvement Projects
• Complete 6S checklist on lines
  • Follow up with operators on missing items
  • Report missing or needed items to management for replenishment
• Run production
  • Backups to be assigned at the 2pm Production Meeting

Job Specifications and Qualifications:

Education

• High school diploma required.
• Prefer post-secondary training in related field.

Experience

• Metal Stamping experience in a diverse set of roles.
• Manufacturing/Production experience with increasing roles/responsibilities.
• Previous experience in the supervision of employees.

Physical Requirements

• Candidate must wear Personal Protection Equipment while on shop floor.
• Lift, carry and/or manipulate up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing.
• Ability to reach, bend, push or pull to place or retrieve materials in production environment.
