Your work assignments and duties require: • This position will require use of full face respirator and clean shaven face. • Cross-train within department(s) and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained. • Review production schedule with Manager to determine what models and stains are required for mixing product. Refer to white board weekly list. Pay is $19-$22 (could possibly stretch) DOE on stainers Position Overview As a Paint & Stain Mixing Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring color accuracy, product quality, and production efficiency within the paint department. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate with team members to meet production goals. Key Responsibilities Production & Mixing Prepare and mix stains, tinted sealers, and lacquers for weekly production schedules Stay one week ahead on all mixing to prevent production delays Mix test batches for new or complex color requirements Label and organize all materials accurately to ensure proper use Distribute materials to spray booths based on production needs and customer orders Verify color accuracy by matching first pieces to customer-approved samples Quality Control & Troubleshooting Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality standards Adjust stain formulas and densities as needed for accurate color matching Diagnose and resolve paint or finish inconsistencies Maintain consistency across all products within the same order Inventory Management Monitor supplies of stains, sealers, and tints Coordinate with purchasing to prevent material shortages Plan ahead based on upcoming production demands Equipment Maintenance Perform routine and preventative maintenance on paint shop equipment Troubleshoot and address equipment issues quickly Maintain spray guns, hoses, booths, ventilation systems, and related equipment Application Support Apply stain, sealer, and lacquer following standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ensure even application and smooth finishes Maintain proper spray equipment performance Keep workflow steady to support production efficiency Qualifications Previous experience with stain mixing and color matching required Strong understanding of coating materials and application techniques Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment Commitment to safety and quality standards
