    Description

    The Staff Transportation Policy Strategist will create policy and public engagement plans for primarily public-sector clients and projects in the transportation and infrastructure industries. This position will execute deliverables on projects in all aspects of transportation improvements, such as: roadway, bridge, and traffic.

    • Develop and present policy communications and public engagement plans for public sector clients.

    • Develop policy documents for public sector infrastructure clients.

    • Develop materials, attend and participate in public meetings, log inquiries on public information hotlines, and data management.

    • Plan and present logistics for project-related engagement activities, such as constituent surveys, in-person/virtual meetings or events.

    • Develop materials for clients and projects, such as fact sheets, website copy, presentation materials, meeting notifications, etc.

    • Ensure brand guidelines are considered in project documents.

    • Present at project meetings, prepare documents and provide comprehensive status and next steps to the internal team.

    • Compile reports in the Stakeholder Management System.

    • Responsible for managing project information files and ensuring the interchange of project outreach information to project managers and clients.

    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Complies with all policies and standards.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field from an accredited program and 4 years strategic communication experience. Required

    • Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

    • Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop experience highly preferred.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Strong organizational skills.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of DOT project standards.

    • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.

    • Ability to work independently.

    • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

    • Demonstrated presentation skills.

    • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
